IN MEMORIAM
SERGEANT MICHAEL ANDREWS
It is with great sadness that the Department notes the passing of Sergeant Mike Andrews
after a valiant battle against cancer. Mike, who was assigned to the State Police Detective
Unit for Hampshire-Franklin County, epitomized the highest ideals of service to his
profession and his family. He was a true gentleman, a devoted family man, a dedicated
Massachusetts State Trooper, and a source of happiness and laughter to all of his friends.
When Mike was diagnosed with his illness, he fought it ferociously, typical of how Mike
lived his life – with passion, optimism, and great strength. Mike will be dearly missed by
his State Police family, and our prayers are with his wife and daughter. We are grateful to
the many members of the State Police and Mike’s countless other friends who stepped up
and supported him and his family in this difficult time.
