Preschoolers: (Between 3 to 7 years of age)

Show them how to work the microwave.
Allow them to fetch things from the cupboards.
Communicate safety in the kitchen.
Set them up to pre-measure the ingredients.
Let them mix ingredients with a wooden spoon and food processors.
Encourage them to add pre-measured ingredients into the bowls.
Have them check the oven to see food cooking and knowing when it looks cooked. Show them how to use a toothpick to check if something is thoroughly baked. Teach them to set the table properly with dishes, cutlery, napkins and glasses.
Let them set a pitcher of juice or water on the table.
Have them serve the bread and safe items to family members.
Show them how to keep the counter clean by cleaning dishes as you go or putting them in the dishwasher as you use them.
