The Communal or Community Narcissist pride themselves
as especially nurturing, understanding and empathic. They are constantly selling themselves through impression management, drawing attention to their own selfless qualities. ie: They trap you in a corner at a fundraiser and whisper excitedly about how thoughtful they’ve been to a grieving widow.
They believe themselves better than the rest of humanity, and cherish their status as givers and not takers. They make sure everyone knows about their humility and acts of humanity. This type can mildly share some patterns
of the malignant narcissist depending on circumstances. If you stick around long enough you will see the mask slip off and get peaks of their real nature. They will smile for the masses and be cruel to the one helping them, which often confuses people. They may display “For Me or Against Me” attitude or swing to a humble appearance. They are highly superficial, chasing
down occasions to be in the limelight.
