Risk Assessment & Method Statements

• Contractors must ensure that a suitable and sufficient Risk
Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) is prepared and

approved PRIOR to commencing work;

• RAMS should only be prepared by a “competent” person who has a
good understanding of the hazards, control measures and
management arrangements;

• RAMS must be updated where the circumstances of the task
change such as sequence of work, introduction of new risks, control

measures and management arrangements;

• RAMS must be reviewed regularly by the contractors management
team;

• Contractors must ensure that their operatives have the contents of
the RAMS communicated to them in a format that can be
understood.

Contractors are completing PUWER & LOLER inspections
GOOD PROJECT MANAGEMENT, Work equipment is provided with suitable guards
110-volt electrical work equipment used and PAT tested
PLANNING, MONITORING AND Dust suppression systems (LEV or wetting down systems)
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATIONS ARE Issue Permits-to-Work
Lift Plans are completed and checked
