                                    nicely we played together when we  were
                                    babies, and just how It all happened/’
                                       “ How did it happen ? " asked Will.

                                       i; Well,  you  see,  a  gentleman  came
                                    one  day to  the  home  to  choose  a  little

                                    girl for a daughter,1'  Peggy began in the
                                    very words she  had so often listened  to.

                                    “ It  was  Dr.  Moran,  of  course,  only  I
                                    never  knew  his  name  before,  and  we

                                    were  babies just  learning to walk and  to
                                    talk.  W e were  just  alike, and  the  ma­

                                    tron always said we were very good  and
                                    C u n n in g ."

                                       “ I  think  we  must  have  been  very
                                    pretty babies,” interrupted Wilifred, with
                                    a  look  at  Peggy.

                                       “ Yes,  we  must  have  been  pretty,"
                                    Peggy assented, with her admiring  eyes

                                    fixed  upon  her sister’s  lovely little face.
                                    "A t  any  rate,  we  looked  exactly  alike,
