My experience with the GEAR UP program is one I will always be thankful for. This program is one that has helped me in many ways when it came to my education, internships, and putting job listings onto my resume, My experience not only put me into fantastic programs
to help me in my studies, but has gave me job opportunities at locations such as The New York Botanical Garden. This was truly great as it helped me get 15 hours of community service that I will be certain to mention in my job interviews.
I am currently using my experience with the New York Botanical Garden (see picture below) to get an internship at the Bronx Zoo. Not long after I wrote this, I found out that I got accepted! Overall, I do believe that GEAR UP has benefited me as a student and is doing a great job to add to my resume for college. Due to all these events, interviews, and opportunities, I am piling things onto my resume in only my freshman year, which will give me even more opportunities in the future and look great when I go to college.
Overall I would recommend GEAR UP to anyone who wants to get a job or business opportunity, as it can really help you early and quickly in your career. It’s amazing. I have never seen anything like this in terms of opportunities that can be opened up so early in your high school career.
