Help Your Child Prepare for High School
Now that your child is halfway through (or almost done with) middle school it’s time to start thinking about high school There’s plenty to be excited about After all high school brings so many new experiences and opportunities to learn grow develop new friendships and become more independent High school has its own challenges There’s more work of course but also the pressure to begin preparing for college These challenges are a a a a a normal part of the high school process and something that all students must learn to handle in their own way But as parents or guardians where do you come in? Here are are three tips to help your child get ready for high school 1 PROMOTE GOOD STUDY HABITS
Working with your middle schooler to develop good study habits and time management skills can help them handle the the increased workload and and harder coursework as it comes keeping them from feeling overwhelmed Something as as simple as as getting them them a a a a a a daily planner and showing them them how to organize it can help them keep track of assignments due dates extra curriculars and and allows them to feel a a a a a a a sense of calm and and control when it it comes to tackling their education and responsibilities 2 FOCUS ON ON RELATIONSHIPS
Encourage your child to communicate with their teachers and lay the the foundation for mentorships that can help them in high school and beyond A strong student-teacher relationship can give young learners a a a a a unique insight into their strengths and and weaknesses and and the the ability to to identify ways to improve upon those abilities 3 ENCOURAGE INDEPENDENT LEARNING
