P. 2
LETTER FROM THE FOUNDATION PRESIDENT
Dear Friends,
Whether it’s a micro-preemie entering the world at our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; a child or adult coming through the emergency entrance at our Pediatric & Adult Trauma Center; a patient with a severe heart condition being treated at our ST Elevation Myocardial Infraction (STEMI) Center; a domestic violence victim being seen at our Center for Assault Treatment Services (C·A·T·S); or any host of other health care needs for which our community seeks out our help, you – our friends, donors and supporters – have made a real and direct impact on their lives and the lives of their families and loved ones.
All that we accomplish at Northridge Hospital Foundation is because of the generosity of individuals like you. 2020 was
a record breaking year with contribution revenue exceeding $6.8M. Your ongoing support and commitment to our ministry allows us to continue to offer the many outstanding programs and services to our patients and community, as well as the opportunity to purchase life-saving equipment to meet the hospital’s many needs.
This past year, your generous gifts supported the following:
• Purchased 12 life support ventilators for ICU
• Expanded Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services in the Emergency Department
• Provided “Prevention Forward” healthy lifestyles program for individuals with diabetes, cardiovascular disease and
high blood pressure
• Supported the Human Trafficking Response (HTR) Program to ensure trafficked persons are identified in the health
care setting
• Created a multidisciplinary team to strengthen the capacity to better identify, respond and support victims of elder
abuse and financial exploitation
• Purchased two Echocardiogram ultrasound machines
• Provided funding for hospital and home-based intervention for pregnant and postpartum women residing in LA County • Received $700,000 in PPE, food, goods, and services from over 350 individual donors, individuals, and corporations
to provide relief and support for our caregivers and essential workers to fight the COVID-19 pandemic
Although the world is increasingly driven by high technology, it continues to be influenced and managed by high spirits such as empathy, generosity and humankindness. When your donations and gifts are packaged with love and generosity, and most are, it makes your gift that much more special.
We hope you enjoy this year’s Impact Report and feel inspired to share these stories with your circle of family, friends and colleagues.
Sincerely,
Brian P. Hammel - President, Northridge Hospital Foundation FOUNDATION BY THE NUMBERS
