A New Oath for a New Era
We do not abandon the Hippocratic Oath.
We expand it.
A modern pledge might look like this:
First, design for durability.
Then, distribute with justice.
And always, grow with the community in mind.
This is the oath of an edible biologics future.
One in which biology, technology, and morality co-
evolve—not in competition, but in harmony.
It is a call to action—not just for scientists and clinicians,
but for policymakers, investors, and institutions:
• To stop designing drugs for scarcity.
• To stop optimizing for price instead of permanence.
• To stop equating value with exclusivity.
Because in the end, a drug that cannot be accessed is a
drug that cannot heal.
And healing—real, widespread, sustained healing—is not a
side effect of the edible biologics revolution.
It is the point.
