Identity
How does it feel?
Being stuck on a pedestal, Personified, immortalized,
Never moving, but always changing Since 1959.
How does it feel?
Stripped of identity,
Too many identities:
Ballerina, gymnast and doctor too.
How does it feel?
To be ripped off shelves
Because you’re a single mom.
The patriarchy and misogynistic pigs we call men, They don’t want a single mom.
Such a “bad image”, despite the strength behind it. But they paint it as “bad” and “teen pregnancy.”
How does it feel?
To always wonder who you are now, And wonder who you will be tomorrow?
