But, the only thing that will never be forgotten in the slightest is Little Caesars. From experiencing your nephew’s birthday parties there to traveling there with your dad after getting money from bringing soda bottles to a redemption center to get pizza, it is truly a place that you associate with childhood. Normally, it was just you and your dad, sitting at the small greedy tables and imagining the slightly spicy taste of the sauce soon to be in your mouth. But sometimes, you went with your eldest half-sister and your two nephews, eagerly awaiting the cheesy pizza and the garlicky breadsticks, only to fill your stomachs twenty minutes later and sleepily play Minecraft on an Xbox 360 at one of your houses.
Now, you don’t see this sister or your nephews as often, so you miss those days when everything was as simple as asking your dad if your nephews could come over next weekend. There is always life in the way, but even if there wasn’t, it wouldn’t be the same–too much time and life has passed for everything to remain the same. Maybe in the future you will see this side of your family more often again and form a new bond that does not revolve around Little Caesars and video games.
Today, as mentioned before, Runnings is the new store that took Kmart’s physical place. This store is more filled with customers than Kmart ever was, and smells like every outdoorsy store: a smell that sometimes gives you a headache if you’re there for too long. Although, you must admit that this store may outlast however long Kmart had the space–most of the area is rural, after all. They are probably making a killing on their outdoor equipment and thick work clothes that don’t always cost an arm and a leg.
