Dear Brothers:
It is with great pride and privilege; I offer congratulations on the 110-year celebration of the founding of our most Noble Fraternity. As a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., I am witnessing throughout the Metro area, chapters who are rising to meet the needs of the community and one another during one of the most challenging times in Kappa history and in our world. As we navigate through these concurrent crises of a public health pandemic and attacks on our democracy, we can rest assured that 110 years ago, our Founders’ decision to not just be a social organization has never served us better.
Born during a time of intense racial discord, our Founders crafted a vision, mission and ideals that has shaped Kappa Alpha Psi well for 110 years. Their foresight will sustain us and gives us strength to lead our communities through these difficult days. The Founders’ Day theme “Revitalizing the Dream, Reenergizing the Bond” is our refrain as well as our marching orders. We have communities depending on us to be beacons of light during this time.
As we look to celebrate in a first ever virtual format, please know I believe we were founded for such a time as this. Best wishes for a successful celebration.
Respectfully,
Senator Antonio L. Hayes 40th Legislative District – MD
