          ASHA Code of Ethics
It is mandatory that all students read the ASHA Code of Ethics. Students and
professionals must adhere to the Code of Ethics.

          Professional Organizations

It is the policy of this department to encourage student participation in professional
organizations including but not limited to the following:
          • American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
          • National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA)
          • Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association (GSHA)
          • National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing

Joining NSSLHA and other professional organizations indicates an early
involvement in professional organizations. NSSLHA has both national and local
memberships. Membership in both is encouraged to support your local program
and to support your chosen profession. Every master’s degree candidate is
encouraged to become a member of ASHA to pursue the Certificate of Clinical
Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and state licensure.
