Primary and Secondary Schools
• There are basic kitchen facilities for staff to use such as hot water, microwave and
fridge. Please be respectful of these facilities and ensure they are left clean and tidy
after use.
• A no-smoking rule applies throughout the school as per Kuwait Labour Law.
It is not permitted to smoke in the vicinity of the school as this is considered
inappropriate and not good practice for those who have responsibility for children
and young people in Kuwait.
• Please keep in mind that the Staff Room serves as a relaxation and workroom for all
•
teachers and show consideration for fellow-users by playing your part in keeping it
clean, tidy and welcoming, (do not leave dirty mugs, cups or plates around on
tables; throw rubbish into the bin etc.)
• Be respectful of others, it is not the responsibility of the cleaning staff to tidy up after
the teaching staff in the school.
• Hot drinks pose a safety risk in areas where staff and students are on the move,
•
teachers are not to drink or carry hot drinks outside of the staff room.
• Chewing or eating during lessons or while walking in the corridors is not
appropriate and is not permitted. One may only drink/eat in the staff room. Teachers
may not drink hot drinks in the classrooms during lesson time.
• Glass bottles or cups should not be used in school.
• Eating and drinking is strictly for vacant periods/break times. Moreover, we do not
•
carry hot drinks around, even in safety cups. We do not eat or have drinks during
assembly time, whilst teaching, or meeting and greeting parents. Chewing gum is
strictly prohibited.
