YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED!
The 2016 banquet is currently scheduled for Saturday February 6th, 2016 at the Holiday Inn, Newmarket However the directors feel that we need to take a hard look at what the membership wishes for this annual event in order to return the attendance numbers to a more acceptable level for continued success. If we continue with declining attendance without addressing the issue it will at some point result in an unsuccessful Banquet in the future.
I would like the membership to have a very open discussion regarding our annual meeting and banquet by either directly speaking with myself or any Director so we can be proactive and address the issues and ensure we enjoy continued success. Over the past few years several ideas have been suggested and mentioned in discussions that we may wish to consider. It is the membership’s banquet so please provide your input.
Example of suggested changes that could be made are to hold the annual meeting on a separate date (means only a simple meeting room would be required) which would then mean holding the Banquet on a separate date as a stand-alone event in February or later in the spring when weather and road conditions improve. By separating the two events it allows the opportunity for members to carpool with invited guests without the invited guests having to be at the event from noon until the banquet start time. This could be an opportunity to increase our numbers.
Other questions that have be raised include:
o Do we require the Banquet to be held in a Hotel or could the venue be located close to a hotel/motel
facility?
o Do we require a DJ or could we provide our own source of music for dancing?
o Should we consider moving the Banquet on a yearly basis to various locations throughout the
Province and our selected Regions?
o Do you the membership wish to see changes in your Annual Meeting and Banquet?
Please communicate your thoughts to myself or any director so we can confirm arrangements for your 2016 Annual Meeting and Banquet.
