Day 6 ~ HERAKLION & SANTORINI

First port of call today is Heraklion on the island of Crete. A few miles away is Knossos, the cen-
tre of the 3,000 B.C. Minoan civilisation, and we book for an optional excursion of the town. In
the afternoon we call at Santorini, the "Black Pearl of the Aegean." The optional shore excursion
here takes us up to the cliff-top village of Thera for one of the world's most breathtaking pano-
ramas.
