Kings Canyon – Alice Springs
long, long day ahead today travelling
Afrom Ayers Rock Resort to Kings Canyon,
we depart the resort at 04:00 in the morning
stopping three hours later at 07:00 for
breakfast at Kings Creek Station along the
way.
Arriving at the canyon we are given the choice
of taking the rocky climb to the rim of the
canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka
National Park (that’s the path you can see to
the left of the 4X4), needless to say none of the
group ventured up to the rim. We choose to
trek the green oasis of the ‘Garden of Eden’.
The circuit walk takes approximately 3 hours
to complete and is rocky and steep in parts.
