        morning and had docked alongside
the quay by 07:10. After an early
breakfast we boarded a coach for our
ride in to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
It was a very long and hot two hour
trip. Below: Views over the city and Me-

tower, in the centre of town, and given
a voucher for the lift to the viewing
area at the top of the building. It was
nice and cool in this glass lined area
with 360° views of the city.

Enough photos taken of city views and
we decided to do a walking tour of the
town, very hot and humid, we found a
quite street with seats to rest for a
while, then browsed the local market
for something for lunch and to buy
        some souvenirs.
By this time it was mid-afternoon and
        very humid and storm threatening,
and we also still had a while before
our coach would be back’ to take us
back to the ship. We headed back to
the Bitexco tower to find a cool place
        to sit.
15:45 and time to go out and wait for
our coach; the storm was now
eminent; 16:00 and it was like mid-
        night outside, thankfully our coach
was a few minutes early, for just as we
were departing the heavens opened up
and the streets were awash. We got
back to the ship not long before our
        requested return time.
There was a stunning sunset over the
Mekong Delta (whilst we were at
dinner). Due to a medical disembar-
kation sailing was delayed until 18:45’
we then set a course down the Song
Thi Vai River towards Vung Tua, and
onto the next port of call Singapore.
