surrounding streets. Trucks did come, not at once, but in many stages. Unfortunately,
after the building and its entouring garden were already fully occupied there were still
many trucks to come. Since trucks were parked along the street surrounding the
crusade place and the unloaded passengers could not enter even the garden of the
building they had to stay on the street or remain on the trucks. Very soon, all the
surrounding streets were full with people who wanted to join the crusade. Many of
the crusade attendants whose trucks were late to come to the place could not enter
at all and they had to remain on the trucks while hearing the sermon until the crusade
finished. The Head of PGPI (Persatuan Gereja-Geraja Pantekosta Indonesia – The Union
of Pentacostal Churches of Indonesia) North Sulawesi who also attended the meeting
to give a greeting and opening words were arriving lately and gave his testimony that
his being lateness was due to the extraordinarily-densed crowd, very hard and time-
consuming for walking just to enter the place. Why were there so many trucks and why
many of them also came late?
Definitely something special and unique had happened. Here is their story. The
crusade committee, during registering the pastors and his congregations who would
attend the crusade, had found the great number of the would-be attendant. The
number was almost double of the building-and-garden capacity. So they decided to
split the 2-day crusade i.e. the first day was allocated to the churches in the northern
part and the second day to the churches in the southern part of Amurang. For some
unknown reasons the confusion seemed to have happened which pushed many
pastors and their congregations from the southern part to join the first-day meeting
allocated for the northern part churches. And the following would tell you God’s
            interference to the crusade.
As a matter of fact, many trucks and its passengers that came late were wet
because, based on their testimonies, several kilometers in the entouring areas from
the crusade (KKR) place a torrential rain poured heavily over the surrounding areas.
On the contrary within the radius circa 2 kilometers from the KKR place there was no
rain at all. This had explained why many trucks came late and were in wet conditions.
This had also explained well why the crusade could proceed well and the crowd outside
and on the street could still hear the words of God clearly and comfortably and joined
the crusade until finished. Eventhough they had to stand up, at least some of them.
Wow, glory to God! A significant number of attendants had been touched and healed
by God. Praise to Lord Jesus Christ!
The’exploded crusade’ in Amurang became the first milestone for the journey of
evangelical service of NJE in North Sulawesi. The local crusade committee that
organized the crusade was headed by Ps. DR. Hein Watuseke MA, M.Th who, later on,
                                                 37
