ISABEL RAFIDI DIRECTOR’S ADDRESS
Hard to believe it is now February and we are well on our way in 2019! As a leadership team, a key focus remains our educational program and meeting the developmental needs of our children, while also supporting the goals of our families. If you have not already, please be sure to check out the goals set for your child as we kick off 2019. They have come from parent input, as well as our observations of the children and how to best support them individually in various areas of development. We really want your feedback and input! You can do this by speaking with your child’s room leader or commenting on Kinderloop.
For our preschool families, we will soon confirm a date for our first parent session of the year as you prepare to make the transition to primary school. This session will be open to our Pioneers & Explorer families and is aimed to answer your questions about the decision to start Kindy, how you can prepare your child/family, and how we will work together with you to achieve the best outcomes for your child. In preparation for this session, we will be asking what you want to hear about or you can email us at enquiries@discovermyworld.com.au
Last month we introduced our ‘Intentional Teaching Calendar’ that will help educators to plan experiences with a range of themes and projects throughout the year. While The Discover Journey remains our holistic approach to learning and is lead by children’s interests, the benefit of the Intentional Teaching Calendar is that children will be given an opportunity to learn about a range of topics through holistic educational experiences, both inside and outside of the classroom. We would love your input! Be sure to speak to your child’s educators and look out for our updates on Kinderloop!

Parent Survey 2019: Because we want to hear from you and welcome complete honesty, in March 2019 we will make our Parent Engagement Survey available for you to complete anonymously. It will be online and only take a few minutes. We seek feedback across all quality areas of the service and in line with the National Quality Standards for Early Childhood. Your feedback will form part of our quality improvement planning for 2019 to ensure the things we focus on are important to you too!
