QUARTER ONE PARENT EVENT
On Wednesday 10 April from 6:45pm, we’re inviting parents to an exclusive adult-only event at DMW! The night will kick off with a complementary drink on arrival and a chance for you to mingle with other families at the service. The night will be informative & fun! It is a chance to meet other families and share your journey as parents, without our little ones this time...just for a couple of hours!
From 6:45pm, speech pathologist Jo Byron and occupational therapist Olivia Jackson will be hosting an interactive session with parents to teach them fundamental skills and techniques to use at home in supporting language development from baby to 6 years! Both ladies are experts in their fields with years of experience in the industry, bringing a mountain of knowledge to our families. Jo is also supporting professional development among our educator team as we continue to challenge ourselves to remain industry current and offering the best possible opportunities for learning for all children in our care.
Our parents will have an opportunity to learn useful strategies and ask questions about a range of topics including speech development, gross-motor skills and dealing with challenging behaviour.
If there’s a topic that you’d like us to delve into on the night, please let us know so that we can tailor the evening to maximise what you get out of it!
The interactive session will then be followed by our annual Art Auction, where parents will be given the chance to bid on paintings created by the children of DMW. All funds raised on the night will go towards new resources for 2019!
