"Criminology Internship Program: Building Skills and Bridging Disciplines Over the
               Years"

For several years, the library has welcomed a unique set of interns—criminology students,
requested specifically to work in this environment through an official letter from the librarian.
This partnership, established to give criminology students hands-on experience in research
and information management, has since become a valued part of the library’s yearly cycle,
benefiting both the interns and the library.

Each year, criminology interns engage in projects that deepen their research and analytical

skills, such as assisting in cataloging law and social sciences resources or organizing
archives. They are introduced to information literacy practices, learning how to search,
organize, and manage data—skills highly relevant to criminology and investigative work.

Some interns have even contributed to projects aimed at educating the campus on topics

like public safety and crime prevention, organizing materials and displays that bring awareness
to these important issues. Through this program, the library has become an unexpected
training ground for future criminology professionals, supporting them in developing a versatile
skill set that enhances their academic and career readiness. This enduring partnership not
only broadens the scope of library internships but also strengthens interdisciplinary ties within
               the university community.
