Lesson 4
Global Warming
Global Warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s
near surface air and oceans in recent decades and it’s projected continuation.
Increase of gas concentration leads to warming of the surface and lower atmo-
sphere by increasing the greenhouse effect. Remaining scientific uncertainties
include the exact degree of climate change expected in the future.
Comprehension
1. What is global warming?
2. What is one of the major effects of global warming?
Questions
1. Can you give the causes of this phenomenon?
2. How will this affect our environment in the future?
3. Give some ways to protect and preserve our environment?
Vocabulary & Expressions
temperature: measure of warmth and coldness.
decades: a period of ten years.
atmosphere: the gaseous envelope surrounding the earth.
