Pollution in the ocean was a big problem. Ships were

often dangerous to whales, too. Above all, people were

still killing whales even though nobody needed whale

products for oil and fuel.

Eight million tons of
plastics end up in the
ocean every year, and

this poses a real danger
to marine animals.
