Lesson 8
Gestures
People have different ways to communicate. In
most cases, they make different gestures to con-
vey different or detailed messages. Someone
who is having stomach problems may gesture
by moving his palm around his belly. Someone
who cannot hear anything may place his palm
beside his ear and shake it. Making thumbs up
means “Okay,” and nodding with a smile means
“Yes.” In other words, gesture is another way of
expressing one’s thoughts.
