Reading Skill: Sequencing
The sequence tells the order of events in a passage.
Number the sentences in the correct order. There are many words that can be used to describe
time order, including first, next, then, and after that.
These signal, or transition, words indicate or show the
order or time in which something happens.
The school day begins at 8 o’clock. 1
Lunch is in the cafeteria at 12 o’clock.
The students go to music class after lunch.
The students go home at 3 o’clock.
The students learn about numbers in their first class.
