                                                       GENRE  STUDY      Narrative poetry tells a story in a poetic
                                                     structure.

                                                        •  Narrative poetry contains the elements of a story and uses
                                                           poetic elements to help tell it. For example, rhythm might be
                                                           used to build suspense, and stanzas might separate scenes.



                                                                              An audio recording of a poem is the
                                                                              recorded reading of a poem that can add
                                                                              drama and emotion to the poem through
                                                                              changes in tone and emphasized words.
