Writer’s block, often caused by stress or
anxiety, is a real phenomenon that affects
even some of the best writers. To overcome

this obstacle, it’s important to relax and just
allow your ideas to flow. Going for walks,
listening to music, or just changing your
               environment can help.

                          Ray Bradbury

                                                  Be Ready for Rejection

Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time was rejected 26 times
before it was published. Ray Bradbury was one of the most
acclaimed science fiction writers of all time, but he said he

fielded thousands of rejections. These authors—and many
                                                  others—persevere and become hugely successful.

                                          Be Brave, Be Yourself

The most beloved authors have an intrepid voice that
belongs only to them. Sandra Cisneros’s bestseller, The House

on Mango Street, has sold over six million copies. Cisneros
says that she found the style that makes her writing unique
by trying to write like herself instead of like her classmates or
teachers. The world needs more brave voices telling original

stories—maybe someday we will read yours!
