Evidence Write a Comparison
PROMPT
Dear Dragon tells the story of two pen pals who exchange letters over the
course of a school year. The letters are unusual because they are written in
rhyming poetry, and the pen pals are unusual because one of the writers
is a dragon!
Write a paragraph that compares and contrasts the two pen pals. What do
they have in common? In what ways are they different? Try to use some of
the Critical Vocabulary words in your writing.
PLAN
Make a list of ways the two characters are alike. Make a separate
list of ways the two characters are different.
