Stonehenge is a site in southern England that is 5,000 years old.
It might have been built by farmers and herders . It was built in three
stages. Stonehenge I was made around 3100 B.C.E. Stonehenge II
was built inside Stonehenge I. It contained bluestones that weighed
around 4 tons each. They were transported to Stonehenge from
386 kilometers away. Stonehenge III was built with heavy rocks
called sarsens. The sarsens were pulled upright, and then flat top
stones were put on top of them .
