smallpox germs, but the boy did not get sick . Thanks to
Jenner, there is no smallpox today. Alexander Fleming studied
bacteria. One day, he saw some fuzzy, blue mold with no bacteria
near it. He studied the mold and came up with penicillin . It was
one of the first modern medicines .
