A Hidden Figure
Johnson went through school quickly. By
the age of 10, Johnson was a freshman in
high school. She was noticed for her
adj. exceptionally good or excellent
outstanding math skills. When she was 15,
outstanding
she started attending college. Later, she
graduated from West Virginia State University.
Then in the late 1930s, laws were changed to allow black
students to attend formerly all-white colleges. She was
one of just four African-Americans chosen to go to a
graduate school formerly for white students.
