scientists study the the Earth’s climate and how it changes over time this is is is is then used to predict how this might affect the the the planet in in in the the the future The role includes gathering and and and analysing data from the atmosphere land and and and sea creating computer simulations
of of of the effect of of of climate climate change and using your studies of of of past climates to predict future climates and events Climate
scientists are also involved in in in fin in publishing findings presenting at conferences and advising on on on policies linked to the environment it is is a a a a role with many facets and you you could find yourself working fin in in a a a a a a a a laboratory at at a a a a a a a a university or or or or visiting sites of interest to your research Routes
You could do a degree or postgraduate qualification in a a relevant subject like:
• environmental science
or ecology
• geography earth sciences or geology
• physics
• maths and statistics
• oceanography or marine science
• meteorology and climate science
• computer science
You’ll usually need:
• 2 or or 3 A levels or or equivalent including maths and a a a science
for a degree • a a a degree in a a a relevant subject for postgraduate study Salary
The average starting salary is around £15 000 however with experience
this can reach £55 000
