C. CLOSING
SUMMARY
Descriptive text is an English writing text that gives details about
what someone (a person) or something ( a thing) is like. It can be
about people, things, animals, places, or activities. The social
function of a descriptive text is, to describe a particular subject
or object, and to inform the readers to give illustration or
imagination in a specific way. This text has several
characteristics, namely: using the simple present tense, and
attribute verbs, such as be (am, is, are, and it only focus on that
one object., whether a person, thing, animal, place, or even daily
activity.
Then, this text also has two different generic structures, namely
identification also has and description. Last, but not least, there
are several language features that are usually used in this text,
such as:
1)Nouns related to people/things/places/animals.
(2) Adjectives related to the nature of people/animals/things.
(3) The first form of the verb (present tense).
(4) Spelling and handwriting and printing are clear and neat.
(5) Speech, word pressure, intonation, when presenting orally.
(6) Reference word.
