Parameters of excellence: India’s Top 10 ASC Colleges
(across all sub-categories)
o provide Plus Two students a comprehensive profile
of India’s most admired private arts, science and
Tcommerce colleges, the national league tables are
supplemented with Top 10 national rankings on the basis
of parameters of excellence.
To compile the league tables of the country’s top-ranked
private autonomous, government autonomous and non-
autonomous colleges, C fore field researchers interviewed
1,747 faculty members and 2,341 final year students
countrywide, asking them to rate colleges other than
their own on six parameters, viz, competence of faculty,
faculty welfare and development, curriculum and pedagogy
(digital readiness), placement record, infrastructure and
leadership/governance quality. Equal weightage (100)
was given to each except the critical faculty competence
parameter which was weighted at 200. The ratings given by Hindu College, Delhi principal Prof. Anju Srivastava: faculty
respondents under each parameter were totaled to arrive at competence #6
an aggregate score according to which India’s top colleges
are ranked.
The national rankings of Top 10 colleges (across all sub-
categories) under all six parameters enumerated above, are
set out below.
