Smudging






                                                            1      Sketch the outline of the mushroom

              Put down light layers and dark layers for the   2
              values.Lightly smudge them.
              I use an art brush for this artwork. highlights
              are using the whiteness of the paper so be
              careful not to smudge the light areas.

 the bottom of the cap .The technique use for this artwork is called smudging. This
 method can createa soft bloom like effect . The smudging effect can be achieved
 using Blending stumps, tissues, chamois, cotton swabs, cotton balls, foam pads,
 and brushes. The smudging is done by rubbing on the charcoal to shade the area .
 pressure will also effect how the outcome of the smudging.Time taken 4 hours
