Chapter 1: Everything is Connected
We are all one, a part of nature, the universe.
What we breathe out, plants and trees breathe in.
You are breathing in what plants and trees are breathing out. Incredible !
Have you noticed how vertically stacked our cities have become? We live in homes
stacked on top of each other, high above the trees. As more people come to live
in a city, there is less space. So, it’s only natural that farms and forests in cities
like Mumbai and Bengaluru go vertical.
You need as much green cover as you possibly can get in this urban jungle to
cool your city down. Planting trees is a great way but it might be nearly impos-
sible to do easily in a city where multiple permissions are required to plant trees.
You can however create your own urban forest anywhere you find space
vertically on your window or a wall.
