Eureka Springs is for outdoor lovers. Nestled
in the Ozark Mountains, Eureka Springs is
the perfect base camp for all types of outdoor
activities. Flanked by the White and Kings
River, (that both run north,) scenic float
trips, swimming and world class fishing are all
nearby. Within a 20 minute drive are two crys-
tal clear highland reservoirs; Beaver Lake and
Table Rock Lake. Both are known as excellent
fisheries and offer many amenities.
Eureka Spring’s Lake Leatherwood City Park
offers an 80 acre, spring fed lake in the middle
of 1600 acres of rugged Ozark beauty. Originally
built by the CCC, recent renovations have
helped to bring the luster back to this gem.
The park has boat rentals, excellent fishing,
swimming, a large playground, camping, cab-
ins, and nearly 25 miles of trails. Much of the
trail system has hand cut single track that has
been challenging and exhilarating hikers and
mountain bikers for over 20 years.
Eureka Springs is an excellent place to stay for
mountain bike enthusiasts, with over 200 miles
of world class trails and bike parks within an
hour’s drive. Part of the Oz Trails system that Dinner Bell Ranch
promotes “Year-Round Ozark Singletrack,”
Lake Leatherwood is one of the original moun-
tain bike trail systems in the state, second only
to Devils Den State Park. The Fat Tire Festival
and Race has been held at Leatherwood since
1998.
Northwest Arkansas has established itself as a
premier mountain biking destination. Nearby
Bentonvile hosted the International Mountain
Biking Association World Summit in 2016 and
the region was also named one of the first
regional ride centers by IMBA. OZ Trails were
also used by Bike Magazine to test bikes for the
2017 Bible of Test Bikes issue. Eureka Springs
is the perfect location to take advantage of all
Northwest Arkansas has to offer the outdoor
enthusiast.
