Maintenance:
Your client no longer has a head of Black hair because it is all wound
away except for the hairline, and only the weave hair is left out so your
client now has a whole head of Oriental hair. This means that your
client’s daily maintenance will have to change, at present your client is
most probably using a lot of moisturiser on her natural hair and scalp.
Moisturiser and weave hair just do not mix, especially the curly weave
where moisturising can cause tangles and matting. So, there is a need to
use a new method of maintenance that will be beneficial to the client’s
own hair and the weave hair.
First let’s deal with the client’s own hair. All of the client’s own hair
except the hairline will be wound away and protected the whole time she
is wearing the weave. The retightening process cancels out the need to
relax the new growth as it is wound away. It may still be nesacery to
relax and moisturise the client’s natural hairline.
To retighten, just open the Instant Weave clip wind away the new growth
and re-close the clip. This process should be carried out every six to ten
weeks. Finally, after one year remove and replace the Instant-Weave, or
just relax all the new growth, because it will have grown ten inches while
it has been wound away. As for moisturising the client’s scalp, initially
there may be some itching and you will want to try moisturising, try to
resist this, because after a week or so your scalp will start to produce
natural oils for itself.
