The existence of varying visible wavelengths was confirmed by Newton,
when he used a glass prism to absorb white light, he found the prism
refracted the white light as individual wavelengths. (Fig5.)
Newton’s experiment with the prism explained Absorption and Refraction as
seen by the human eye.
The prism is made of glass without pigments. Thereby, it is completely
transparent. When all the visible wavelengths in white light (Daylight) are
absorbed they separate into individual wavelengths at different angles when
refracted.
