The size of the next section depends on the type of Balayage you are trying to achieve. For
example if you are creating an “OMBRE” you would aim to bring all the hair from the
section through the Colorage meche. Ignore the design template section of the Colorage
Meche and paint the bleach one inch away from the scalp directly on to the middle lengths
and ends of the hair.
After the bleach is shampooed out of the hair it has the appearance of a whole head bleach
having grown away from the scalp. Now mix and apply a second colour and feather the
application over the harsh line at the roots and again feather the colour into the brightly
bleached ends to create a perfect “OMBRE”.
Also with the Dip Dye you would aim to bring all the hair from the section through the
Colorage Meche. Ignore the design template section of the Colorage Meche and paint the
bleach directly on to the ends of the hair only, then cover with a Colorage B Meche.
Al types of Balayage are achievable with Colorage Meches. Before you begin you must
have an image in your head as to the look of the Balayage you are trying to achieve: If you
are looking to achieve a Balayage with completely bleached ends similar to a Dip Dye with
the bleach stretching and blending towards the roots; then you would bring all the hair in the
section through the Colorage Meche, lay down the template and paint the bleach over the
gaps in the template and the exposed ends of the hair to achieve a perfect blend.
It is possible to vary the blend by leaving different amounts of hair out of the Colorage
Meches. Once the Colorage Meches have been removed and the bleach is shampooed off
the hair The bleached hairs blonde ends mix with the natural darker hair diluting the
starkness of completely bleached ends. However, for the purpose of this training exercise
we will recreate the Balayage displayed in FIG. 4
