It was a sunny day and at last I decided to see my grandmother who lives in Yogyakarta. Reading
Personal Recount Text
She lives alone in a village of Bantul in Yogyakarta. It takes 2 hour trip by motorbike from
my hometown. I know it is restricted to travel as both my hometown and hers are in the red
zone of Covid19. I took an alternative road to avoid the police check points and I stopped
several times to take a rest under trees drinking and eating. When I arrived my grandmother
was so surprised to see me. I hugged her and gave her favorite foods and snacks.
I was so happy that she was fine but she got light flu. We had lunch in the back yard under
a big mango tree then I met the village chief to report because I planned to stay there two
weeks. I wanted to help her clean the front yard and back yard as the grass is too high and
there were a lot of dried leaves welcoming small green frogs and snakes to come. I also
helped her fix the fence. She said that I was such a tomboy girl but I didn‟t care. All I know
is I do fall in love with Yogyakarta.
