The team of Prof. Sundrum also consists of Mrs. Werner, who obtained the GGTM research award in 2010.

Veterinary Medicine Group (CVMG) with the theme Integrating Homoeopathy and other Complementary Therapies into Veterinary Practice. There is a website to inform interested people from the public and veterinary profes- sion on complementary therapies (www.cvmg.co.za). Yet, it is not possible to obtain a formal homoeopathic vet orientated education and qualification in South Africa and travelling overseas is becoming more and more of a challenge with the continuous weakening of our currency. An e-learning course would be the way forward in this.
Many vets find it easier to approach homoeopathy via homotoxicology, using imported medicines for instance from Heel, Germany. However, lately such remedies are more difficult to obtain or have been completely withdrawn from our market. Some products are not imported anymore and the prices escalate because of weakening of the Rand and higher import taxes.
Fortunately we have several local homoeo- pathic laboratories like Natura whose founder almost half a century ago, Dr. Michael Levien, has died last year at the grand age of 93. The company has been taken over by CoMed Health which is a holding company for a number of Complementary and Alternative Medicine com- panies and brands.
The inspiring Dr David Lilley, a medical doc- tor and well known homoeopath in South Africa and the UK, got his first volume of three pub- lished by Saltire books in January entitled ‘Healing the Soul’. He established in 1995 the South African Faculty of Homeopathy for train- ing registered medical doctors and now lives in Cape Town devoting his life to writing and teaching.
We are experiencing some challenging times with clients these days being less able to afford tests and expensive treatments for their animals. Homoeopathy does step in nicely here as a cheap and effective healing system.

The whole Friday was dedicated to the annual IAVH Board Meeting. After a warm welcome by president Peter Gregory (GB) and reading of the minutes of the board meeting 2013 the reports gave a good overview about current projects and activ- ities. With support from Markus Mayer (DE), head of the IAVH office, Treasurer Don Hamiton (US) presented the relevant financial facts of the association. At pres- ent 33 nations are represented by the IAVH.
Our newest member is the Baltic Association of Veterinary homeopathy. Happily we can also welcome new mem- bers from Denmark. At the moment IAVH negotiates with Cuba and Turkey regarding conditions for a collective membership.
An important point of discussions were the national differences of regulations for the use of homeopathic remedies and their official registration. The board agreed on elaboration of an international overview including all important facts.
Then a major point on the agenda could be handled positively: Peter Gregory agreed to stand for election for another three years and was elected concordantly. Coordinator of the Subcommittee for Education, Stefan Kohlrausch (DE), sent his well-structured summary and pre- sented it to the board via Skype.
The next point on the agenda was the Materia Medica project, MMHV. Coordinator Edward De Beukelaer (GB) pointed out his ideas and after intense discussions, detailed points were defined. Further points of discussion were actions to optimize public relations, possibilities of utilising Bernhard Hornig’s (DE) collected veterinary rubrics and Materia Medica material, the consequences of moving the hearquarter of the association to Germany, presentation of an information folder about homeopathy for clients and fixation of all board conferences till the next board meeting.
Liesbeth Ellinger (NL) delivered an invita- tion from our Dutch colleagues and we gladly agreed to host the IAVH Board meeting 2015 in the Netherlands. It will take place at the 12th September 2015 – be sure to be there – our president Peter Gregory agreed to bring his squeeze-box! Helene Widmann, IAVH General Secretary
 Annual IAVH Board Meeting
Between the 12th to the 14th March the Belgian town of Spa provided best cir- cumstances for hosting the annual IAVH Board Meeting. In the heart of the Ardennes the accessibility was perfect for the international participants. Thanks to the long-time contacts of IAVH subcom- mittee coordinator Edward de Beukelaer with the seminar coordinator, Dr. Mark Brunson, we could partake at the homeo- pathic congress of CLH – Centre Liégeois d Homeópathie. About 130 participants attended the congress, which was the 25th anniversary of the CLH. We could enjoy not only interesting informative lec- tures and the best atmosphere but also a specially brewed beer with a Marc Brunson label. On Wednesday the CLH organised an introduction for the interna- tional visitors of the congress to Marc Brunson’s principles of practising home- opathy. The following day the IAVH pro- vided simultaneous translation of the lectures for everyone, who did not speak French. In the breaks everybody could
