3/26/08 still can only express drops; went to homeopath 4/08 blocked and catheterized; Rx Sars, then Mag-phos 6C and Nux-v 6C helped; also given bethanechol and diazepam; then needed Sulph 200C, then 1M two weeks later when blocked again; then had frequent U; then resolved; U/A: pale U, blood clots, glucose 100, 3+ blood, 2+ pro (3/26: could express bladder easily “atonic bladder”) “since Sulph, stools which were always loose,
now firm”
5/08 “relapse” (straining to U, bladder not full) given Nux-
v 6c tid tapered, then Sulph 1M
6/09 respiratory infection — wheeze or cough (agg. rain)
Kali-sulph 30X bid, then Sulph 1M; cleared up by next
month; started probiotics
2/10 U frequency again, gave Nux-v 30C q hour; also
Solidago?
3?/10 abscess over right eye (tried Hep, Sil, Ledum, and
Pyrog, then Calc-sulph helped, also given Clavamox); blood in U again; Nux-v helped; began using Puls 3x/week; vet noted hard mass bilateral inguinal area
6/10 Puls once/mo now; not eating raw food
8/10 two teeth removed (one had already fallen out); played like a baby (didn’t play as a kitten); still on Puls,
also Symph 6X
11/10 still on Puls; abscess under left eye gave Calc-sulph 30C 3/11 U problem again; Puls helped, multiple 1M and 30C doses 5/11 Puls 30C once/wk; coughing
12/14 again fur loss base of tail, gave Sil 30C
3/15 Calc 200C for fur loss
4/15 fur improving
5/15 Ben euthanized (dog companion)
Around 6/15 began losing fur at base of spine and tail (Calc
helped, but only temporarily—fur became soft and luscious) also daughter came home before this relapse (stressful to family)
9/15 fur loss again, gums swollen — Calc 200C, no help, and no help with 1M given 9/27
10/15 abdominal lesions began “pimply look” “welty things” “angry rash” hot and red; Puls 200C; then Sulph 30C and 200 on 10/22; now it smells; housemate Blossom stopped curling up with T.
End of November, started vomiting fur; gave Urt-u 200C on 1 1/20
12/8/15 began treatment with JHVP
Symptoms:
lower abdominal eruption – lumps, raised
smelly “old cheese” [fetid]
inflamed, can be very red, like burn blisters, some bleeding leaking sticky clear fluid, very moist
preceded by fur loss base of spine and tail, stiff, brittle; also,
over grooming caudal abdomen
fur falling, lots of shedding
h/o abscess on head over eye (over right eye and then
under left eye) ( Calc-sulph helped)
h/o not a great coat as a kitten
diarrhea for years (helped by Sulph)
stools “looked stepped on” “weird smushy” “unformed” concomitant: bony
now vomiting fur, liquidy, color of stool, leaves a stain and smells h/o bleeding with U, straining and frequent U, blood clots
in U (resolved with Sulph)
h/o blocked urethra, re-blocking until Mag-phos and Nux-v h/o atonic bladder or urethral spasm
fearless, even of gunshots
fights when restrained
as kitten would suckle the sheepskin
likes fireplace, sits and sleeps right by it (behind stove) likes to hang around company
docile if yelled at, will stop and crouch to be picked up loves to be stroked
specially likes men
eye discharge, OD > OS – dark brown dry
“has had ear things”
sometimes sleeps under blankets (not often), then gets hot and leaves
gagging cough, often, chronic, long bout, then done wheezing
has had rotten teeth removed and some also fell out
h/o rodent ulcer R upper lip “carved out” part of lip, sore-looking swollen gums
sticky gums
Tiekert was started on Sepia LM1, repeating the dose approximately weekly, and his skin cleared up completely in three months. He received a few Sepia LM2 doses for barbered fur at the base of his tail, at which time he was described as, “...acting ridiculously silly and playful and wants to play ‘catch me if you can’ both indoors and outdoors with me. Goofball. Very happy.” Sepia LM2 did not help his fur, but a dose of (you guessed it!) Sulph 1M, helped his fur become luxuriant again, followed five months later by another dose for weepy eyes (a return of an old symptom). One year later he was still doing very well. Best of all, his cat friend, who had boycotted him when he had such a bad odor, was back to close personal snuggles!
Modalities in the Materia Medica
Arsenicum album and Natrum muriaticum – worse after eating
Aurum – worse in cold air
Bryonia – worse for motion
Calcarea carbonica – worse bathing and washing
Carbo vegetabilis – worse for getting overheated Chamomilla – ameliorated when carried
Colocynthis – better for pressure (Thundershirt?)
Hepar sulphur, Lycopodium, and Stramonium – worse when alone
Phosphorus – prefers cold drinks Thuja – better from touch
