In addition to my classical homeopathic training and practice, I have great interest in and concern for the damage caused by drugs and vaccines, and I use tautopathic (some would say isopathic) methods at times for these problems, often with good success. For example, with remedies made from vaccines or drugs. With drugs, I have especially seen good responses with a remedy made from ketamine, for example, as this drug can cause disas- trous problems in some patients. I am one who believes that we stay true to homeopathic principles without letting those principles blind us to possibilities for cure.
So I hope, as the IAVH Treasurer, to not only keep an eye on the books, but also to encourage us to support one another as we continue to practice and develop this endlessly fascinating medicine, for the good of ourselves, our patients and even the world. Thank you.

MMHV Workshop in Nuremberg
The 5th of April, we held a workshop on the matter of the The Materia Medica Homeopathica Veterinaria (MMHV). I proposed my views on this project, which were dis- cussed, amended and then accepted by the participants. The resulting model that we will use to create, or rather grow the MMHV, has a dynamic of modernism while at the same time respects the essence of homeopathy.
The MMHV will become a wiki for information collection and diffusion. There will be room for participation by all IAVH members: from one
tiny experience with one remedy to the full study of the materia medica of a remedy. The project will grow if you will participate. This project gives the veterinary homeopaths the opportunity to show the rest of the homeopathic world a way forward in cooperation between members of different schools/homeopathic teaching on how knowledge can be stored and exchanged.
Maybe you think that this last statement is a little optimistic. My answer to this is that it will depend on you. Homeopathy needs you ... and it does!
I will continue to translate extracts from Jacques Millemann’s work, which serves as the seed and fertiliser for the project. Whether it grows depends on the sunshine you are to bring. Edward De Beukelaer
IAVH Board Meeting 2013 in Nuremberg
This year the IAVH Board Meeting 2013 was held in Nuremberg in conjunction with the annual congress of the GGTM. Dr. Bernhard Hornig compiled a highly interesting program for the homeopathy seminar and managed to attract many veterinary homeopaths and oth- ers, who want to become a homeopath into this steeped-in-history town. An honourable frame behind thanking Dr. Andreas Schmidt for his vast long-time commitment for the IAVH!
During the Materia Medica Workshop on Saturday afternoon Edward de Beukelaer and other participants enthusiastically discussed constructive next steps in this dynamic proj- ect. A Materia Medica database will be generated in the members area of the IAVH website. The software will allow a continuous growth of the collected information. The basic funda- ment of symptoms and the essence of remedies can be completed with case histories and further observations, which can be published under the name of the responsible vet.
The Board Meeting on Sunday the 7th April was flavoured by constructive discussions of various topics. Current news concerning the research database www.homeopathicvet.org, which was assembled by Mark Elliot, education and IAVH certificate, intensification of the cooperation with the ECH (European Committee for Homeopathy) and the LIGA as well as improving the PR presence in modern media, such as Facebook and Twitter provided enough material for an intense exchange of ideas. Dr. Andreas Schmidt inspired all partic- ipants with a comprehensive summary of 20 years of IAVH. This created a highly motivated atmosphere to contribute ones services to the IAVH. This spirit was immediately reflected in the elections of the new treasurer Don Hamilton, my re-election as general secretary and the election of all national representatives.
The next Board Meeting will take place in Paris following the LIGA congress from the 17th to the 19th July 2014.

5. Head, inflammation, meninges; 6. Nose, epistaxis, blood, bright;
This gave the clear choice of phosphorus, which also fitted his keen energetic thin and lithe body type. The epistaxis although a possible side effect of the medication was felt to still be a valid symptom, as it doesn’t manifest in every animal and therefore indi- cates that Joshua has a predisposition or weakness for a symptom of this type.
The potency choice was for 200c. I felt that the remedy match was very good but at the same time felt that the vitality of the patient to be fairly low due to the illness and also medication side effects, therefore I did not elect to use a 1M.
A very short course was used initially to test the patient’s sensitivity to the remedy with the thought that there may need to be some repetition over time due to the on-going medication. I also felt, there may be a need for a tautode made from Cytarabine in light of the fact that Josh had especially been unwell in terms of energy and playfulness, since he relapsed and needed the intra-thecal injection of this drug (around the spinal cord and therefore direct contact with the brain).
Px: Phosphorus 200c, night, morning and night.
Follow up – 3 weeks: since the second tablet of Phosphorus 200c Joshua has been completely dif- ferent, a change also noticed by friends. He was more enthusiastic, playful and loving. He is interest- ed in his surroundings and is not tiring so easily (now only needing 30 minutes sleep to recover from hydrotherapy). His energy levels seem to be more on a par with his sister’s. He had not been like this since before the relapse. He had also heard a back- firing car the other day and did startle but then just got on with his walk.
Based on this great initial response I advised that the Phosphorus was repeated as a single dose every 3-4 weeks or earlier, if his symptoms deterio- rated. The specialist centre would continue to review his conventional Dexamethasone medication and hopefully schedule a reduction.
3 months: Joshua’s Dexamethasone has been reduced to 1mg twice per week with no decline in his health. Miss H has however noticed a vast reduction in Joshua’s appetite and he is not eating well. He is also showing barking and aggressive behaviour towards some dogs on walks. The noise reaction was still much improved.
I felt the behaviour change was due to Joshua’s increased vitality and to be a ‘teenage’ reaction a lit- tle later in life owning to him being poorly during the time that many dogs do start to push boundaries with behaviour in early adolescence. I advised on going back to basic training methods and adopting positive reward/ distraction on appearance of anoth- er dogs to keep him calm and focused on Miss H. Miss H was also advised to contact a T-touch practi- tioner for training advise. He was also changed onto a raw wild type diet.
4 and 1⁄2 months: he loves his diet and is eating it with relish. Other aspects are much the same.
I decided at this stage to give the cytarabine tautode, which Freemans homeopathic pharmacy sourced and
