Zen is a 13-year-old German Shepherd dog living in
Croatia. I prescribed for him in July after a zoom
consultation. When he was 10 years old, he was diagnosed
with a huge prostate. Castration ameliorated the
associated symptoms. He now has neuro- musculo-
skeletal problems.
The owner’s words are in italics.
Zen is very gentle and loves people and dogs. When he was 11
years old, he developed a problem standing and he got slower.
For the last eight months he gets up very slowly and he walks
really slowly (note repetition of the word ‘slow’ three times).
He doesn’t run any more. He’s worse in the morning and when
it’s cold.
Sometimes he does a poo when he is asleep. He cannot stand
still and therefore he poos as he walks along. He cannot lift his
leg to urinate, so he also walks along when he is urinating. An
x-ray was taken by the conventional vet, which demonstrated
the beginnings of calcification in the distal lumbar vertebrae.
