f I hadn’t been into homeopathy before that I sure would have been after what I saw in her. The pony changed so drastically, I could hardly believe it. Not only disappeared the outward signs like the pain (within five days) and the fatty neck and bumps (within 2 months), she was also suddenly seeking company with human beings, craved to be petted and groomed, always followed people through her paddock to see what they were doing – and we do NOT feed our ponies from the pockets of our coats. She didn’t have a problem anymore waiting until she was let out after the herd.
Over the years I waited for the laminitis to make an appearance again but it – thankfully – didn’t. Oh – and we also stopped watering the hay because it was not necessary anymore. The cough disappeared.
In spring 2017, now aged 29, Graínne suddenly developed an oedema under her abdomen and her cough made an appearance again. We felt a certain amount of distress, because her mother had shown the very same symptoms at the same age just before we had to put her down. Quickly I decided to repeat the Kali carb even though she hadn’t needed it for years. Not only had some of her old symptoms come back, she had also developed the very visible oedema now.
The first picture shows the oedema the first day. The next pictures show Graínne on days 2, 3 and 4. As you can see the oedema disappeared rapidly. This was about two months ago. The oedema has not returned, the cough is almost gone. The pony is suddenly rolling over on her back again and shows a lot of energy, which for me is first proof for a healing treatment.
Two things I want to add.
First is the fact that her mother received the Kali carb in a low potency over a long time, while the foal was at foot. I wonder how much of that went to the foal and pushed Graínne into a Kali carb state later. It sounds highly likely. Of course, she is also the daughter of her mother and both had a whole set of similar symptoms.
Second – after she received the Kali carb for the first time the melanomas that had been tiny suddenly started to grow. That went on for some time and then stopped. We never touched them, never tried to remove them and so far they didn’t cause any problems. The largest is the size of a small fist.
I will end this with another picture (main photo) that was made this year. I think she looks fine and she most definitely is a very lively 29-year- old Connemara pony thanks to homeopathy.
    I
Typcial symptoms of Kali carb, among others, are:
• A tendency to feel cold, but easily getting
hot with exercise
• Often oedemas – especially above the
eyes
• Aggravation from wet cold
• Feeling pain more acutely (like Bryonia)
• Fear of abandonment with an inability to
stay on their own
• Anxiety with anything new
• Doesn’t want to be touched
• Seems neutral/invisible
• Hooves sensitive on hard surface and not
wanting to lift their legs for the blacksmith
All symptoms fit Graínne to a T. She was always panicky, when she feared the herd would go somewhere without her, which made recovery after her first bout of laminitis a tad complicated, as one of the other ponies always had to stay with her. Until today she is temperamental when it comes to doing her hooves. New situations were always hard for her. She had the bumps above her eyes and the night before that last bout it had been raining heavily and she had gotten very cold.
I gave her the Kali carb in a C200 potency.
