IAVH political and research activities
IAVH is a member of the European health alliance (EPHA)- AMR Stakeholder network – it is a network of over 50 organizations and individuals working together to promote the need to address AMR at EU level.
IAVH is actively participating in this project to help address antibiotic resistance to emerging problems.
EPHA- AMR Stakeholder network wants to publish a document that shows good practice cases with practical examples to demonstrate how different EU countries can improve the situation. Most organizations mostly practice the right management action on antibiotics. EPHA- AMR Stakeholder network would like to remind them that it is also essential to carry out action/studies related to infection resilience. ECH, IAVH, and ECCH have already produced a document that will be proposed to include.
IAVH board considers that participation in the – JPIAMR project network T& CM alternatives for antibiotics worldwide: Global Initiative for Traditional Solutions to Antimicrobial Resistance (GIFTS-AMR) is an essential achievement of IAVH. Thanks, María Fernández Portales, for her contribution.
The board believes it is vital to continue working on AMR and collaborate with the institutions working with these problems.
Thanks to Research and Political subcommittees for their work and support for veterinary homeopathy.
This coming year brings many unknowns. I think there will be many challenges ahead of us, but I also believe that life's difficulties give impetus to different changes within us and make us more dynamic and open us up to new ideas.
LMHI 75th World Congress of Homeopathy and IAVH joint congress will occur June 16-19, 2021 in Istanbul/Turkey, but it is not yet known in what format the congress will take place. Most likely, we have to prepared for an online or hybrid conference. Virtual events are becoming the new norm, and we need to learn how to use them effectively. In Istanbul, Congress is an essential event for the IAVH, as the two organizations will have a joint congress again after the long run. Although we all might miss meeting people and the live conference atmosphere, we could reach a wider audience because access to online conference is almost unlimited.
The International Association of Veterinary Students (IVSA) has already shown great interest in congress. IVSA would like to send more than one representative to Istanbul, and they're very keen not only on participating but also on working more closely with IAVH.
ECH is currently working with other CAM members on a strategic message applicable in argumented talks on homeopathy. In the world of CAM, it is increasingly asserted that the term integrative medicine is best accepted by both conventional colleagues and politicians and authorities and is, therefore, terminology to use when referring to homeopathy. Do we agree with homeopathy's narrative as a discipline of integrative medicine, or yet a field of multidisciplinary medicine? According to the Armen Nikogosian MD a functional medicine doctor
The multidisciplinary orientation uses clinical and therapeutic methodologies of Homeopathic Medicine and Conventional Medicine.
The goal is to integrate the various medical disciplines to improve the understanding of the disease and the effectiveness of treatment. In a multidisciplinary approach, scientific knowledge can be used to interact with an patient's inherited genetic traits, environment, and lifestyle conditions to diagnose and treat the patient as a whole, not just the patient's disease.
In my opinion, one of our tasks is to maintain and practice homeopathic therapy as a form of independent therapy. It is important not to lose the true essence of homeopathy under different nomenclature names. Are you of the opinion that homeopathy is part of integrative medicine or multidisciplinary medicine?
One of the main issues of IAVH is education, and we would like to hear your views on how to make efficient modern online learning. These could be in the format of short video lectures, remedy keynotes, clinical cases etc.
The development of online learning will encourage new forms of communication and cooperation and make our organization more dynamic.
I also would like to encourage members of IAVH to use many more social media tools for promoting homeopathy – it helps to spread information about homeopathy for those who know little about it and strengthens communication in the homeopathic community. I also would like to urge you to use our online Magazine to share your experience and ideas and foster a sense of community and membership.
