How do molecular biology and the Heisenberg principle affect our view of medicine?
1 One can examine a patient by considering its building blocks or a defined number of parameters and propose treatments based on their understanding. Medical trials are then based on a number of predetermined parts or parameters of the patient. This is the typical modern medical approach, which can be quite successful. It is also intellectually satisfying and further, the reduction
of the patient to predetermined parameters also allows for the construction of organised, standardised protocols.
2 The homeopathic prescription technique applies the Heisenberg principle by recognising that for successful treatment the whole of the patient needs to be considered: the patient in all his/her individual reactions and interactions. Homeopathy is a practical treatment method, not a system of intellectual reasoning. The
study of parts of the patient, or a restricted number of parameters of the patient, is not compatible with homeopathic medicine.
The Heisenberg principle is a quantum mechanics principle, which applies to intrinsic systems. Biologic systems are intrinsic systems, and quantum mechanics of the second qualification applies to biology. Since homeopathy approaches the patients based on the Heisenberg principle, and quantum mechanics applies to
