I am writing this on a retreat on the Isle of Coll off the west coast of Scotland and I am surrounded by the beauty of nature and am being reminded of the importance of the simple truths of life and who we live it with. I am with a group of women and this is the poem that came out last night.
Simply Notice
How the sea makes and remakes itself as it journeys to the shore, how it can be teal and aquamarine and as black as the centre
of your eye all at the same time.
Simply notice how the waves breathe out and in again when they reach their intention but nothing is lost
it all begins again.
Simply notice how water imprints its memory on sand even when it is no longer there and how it has left offerings of shells and stones that shine.
